The 1st round of the Winter bouldering League took place last Thursday, although it wasn't the biggest turn out we have ever seen for our competitions there was still a fantastic atmosphere to the event. Everyone was in good spirits and really giving it their all to succeed on the 30 problems that had been set for them.

 The Under 16 catagory was always going to be a hard fought contest with most of the Tower Team entering fighting it out for the bragging rights. A fantastic effort from Orrin Coley for coming out on top who was closely followed by Tom Bonnert and Tara Hayes who finished off the top 3 spots. Although i can imagine over the next 4 rounds might not be the way it ends up as pride and prizes are on the line.

The 16 and Over catagory was the first year we have done this as just an open event without the Fun/Hard options, the outcome of entrants being put off entering and who would actually win left us wondering who would enter and who would win. In the end we had a good amount of people enter this catagory and it soon turned into a tough 3 way fight for the top spot. Which ended up with Ben Freeman grabbing top spot from Lee Leatherbarrow (Barra) and David Terris.
