The Adult climbing course consists of four, ninety minute sessions and cover all the basics needed to learn to climb on top roped lines in the Bloc and use the bouldering wall safely.
Items that are covered include - Climbing warm ups & stretching to avoid injury
- How to put on a harness, ties knots & belay correctly and safely
- An understanding of how the climbing grade system works
- Instruction in basic to climbing movement and safe use of the bouldering wall
- How to train to improve their own grade
At the end of the course participants should feel confident to register as an independent climber and use the Bloc and Bouldering area unsupervised, you will be encouraged to consolidate your knowledge and progress on to do a Lead Climbing course.
Our instructors work on the following;
A 1:6 (max.) customer to staff ratio will allow participants to develop at their own pace with plenty of scope for individual attention from the instructor.
Throughout the four weeks each participant’s progress should be reviewed and advice offered on how to improve.
At the end of the course participants should feel confident to register as an independent climber.
